Journalist award for portrait about European Umbrellas
Hans Strothoff Journalism Prize awarded for the 2nd time Radio Bremen TV wins Dreieich (ots) - The Hans Strothoff Journalism Prize was awarded for the second time on 20 June 2011 during a festive awards ceremony. The prize is awarded to journalists who highlight the importance of the medium-sized specialist trade in the globalised world and who make the economic and economic policy interrelationships from the subject areas of business and business development, finance and the labour market comprehensible to a broad public. The 1st place went to Susanne Brahms (Radio Bremen, "buten un binnen"). Her film "Schirm Oertel" portrays an entrepreneur who gave up his shop in Bremen's city centre in order to concentrate completely on the Internet sales of handmade umbrellas. The prize is endowed with a total of 50,000 euros. The winners were selected by an independent jury, which consisted of Carola Ferstl (presenter, n-tv), Gerd Hanke (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, "Lebensmittel Zeitung"), Andrea Kurtz (Editor-in-Chief, "handelsjournal"), Prof. Dr. Frank Lobigs (Managing Director, Professor of Media Economics and Business Journalism, Institute of Journalism, University of Dortmund), Konrad Pohl (Editor, Reporter and Author, ARD Börsenstudio Radio) and Jochen Schuster (Editor, "Focus"). The prize is sponsored by Hans Strothoff, founder and chairman of the board of the MHK Group AG (Dreieich), Europe's leading association of owner-operated kitchen and furniture retail companies.
