The last half year was dedicated to the technical renewal of the Schirm Oertel website. The main focus was on implementing a new shop system in order to meet the increasing internationalization of Schirm Oertel and at the same time ensure more flexibility in the processes. For the interested experts: We chose the Magento shop system because it allows us to connect several languages on different domains and marketplaces with a consolidated backend and link them to a merchandise management system. Of course, we also used the technical conversion to redesign the website. Two aspects were in the foreground here: firstly the clear market positioning via the visual appearance (classic, high quality and British) and secondly the easy navigation (with a maximum of 3 clicks in the shopping cart). As proud as we are of the new website, we are also proud of our long-standing tradition on the Internet and, for the occasion, here is a review of the design of our websites since 1998. At the beginning - you can hardly imagine it today - the product pictures in full size were about as large as our current preview pictures, which was due to the transfer speed at that time and the costs involved. In the course of time, the images became larger, the product images more varied, the additional information (around the screen) increased and the share of videos also increased rapidly.
